And she looked oh so fine
Her eyes met mine
And she had a gaze of mystery
And a tender smile
That made me want to make her mine

(2) I paused for a moment
Just wond'rin' what to say to her
To start a conversation

I was afraid
That she might slip away from me
And the deep regret
I'd feel would not be very nice
