Wedding Day
03:51
|
|||
After all the months of planning
And the long sleepless nights
Days of sweet concord
And a few nervous fights
Endless reassurances
that everything will be alright
And now one thing is clear
The big day is here
It’s your wedding day
We are gathered for the union of your souls
The guests have arrived
On this very day
You’re embarking on a journey
that will take you the rest of your lives
It’s a holy and solemn estate
Do not enter unadvisedly or lightly
But reverently, discreetly,
in the fear of God
(Brief interlude - Lyre and percussion)
As we celebrate
Just remember that your lives will be changing
As two become one
And don’t concentrate
on the challenges before you
but for now
let’s all just have fun
(Brief interlude including Flute, in 5/8 time)
In sickness and health
In poverty and wealth
For worse or for better
love each other
These rings join your hearts
’til death do you part
And someday soon you may be
father and mother
Pray for the children before they are born
And raise them in tender love after
Nurture, example, and with grace adorn
And fill them with good times and laughter
(Longer interlude with Flute, in 5/8 time)
It’s your wedding day
We are gathered for the union of your souls
The guests have arrived
On this special day
You’re embarking on a journey
that will take you the rest of your lives

Bright Happy Day
03:53
|
|||
On this bright happy day in the springtime
We will gather where the flowers are in bloom
We will join in a happy celebration
As a wonderful excitement fills the room
Everything is prepared for the wedding
Friends and family assemble as we
will be joining in holy matrimony
and the rings symbolize our unity
On this bright happy day in the springtime
We’ll begin life together anew
Then each and every coming day will bring time
to share a life together, me and you
Let us pledge with our vows to each other
When the ceremony’s over, make a toast
Then we’ll go on a honeymoon together
Spending time with the one we love the most
Oh, the flowers that blossom in springtime
Overwhelm us with the beauty they unfold
And the warm, friendly glow of the sunshine
Offers us a welcome change from winter’s cold
As the season progresses to summer
Every thunderstorm reveals nature’s power
Then the sun reappears in all its glory
to deliver us from the darkest hour
Then when autumn comes, and all the leaves are falling
It is beautiful! but death is in the air
Soon the season of colors will be over
and snow will then be flying everywhere
On those cold, chilly mornings of winter
We will stay close together, you and me
and reflect on the memories that we cherish
Giving thanks for peace and love and harmony
That will bring us again back to springtime
Oh, how rapidly the months seem to zoom!
We will celebrate our first anniversary
But we’ll still be the bride and the groom!
On this bright happy day in the springtime
We will gather where the flowers are in bloom
We will join in a happy celebration
As a wonderful excitement fills the room
There is joy in this solemn occasion
May our gladness dispel any gloom
All the guests have received our invitation
and today we’re the bride and the groom!

Groom's Bridal March
02:52
|
|||
I hear footsteps falling
So softly now they fall
See, a ray of sunlight
is dancing on the wall
’Tis a glorious day now
and beauty is in store
Behold, the lovely Princess
stands just inside the door
Here comes my bride
to the altar to join me by my side
So long I’ve waited
to be hand in hand in marriage
for the rest of my life
So come now, my bride
to take your vows and then with me abide
For now we meet as bride and groom
And this hour you’ll walk beside me
as my wife

I Love You Truly
01:51
|
|||
I love you truly, truly, dear,
Life with its sorrow, life with its tear,
Fades into dreams when I feel you are near,
For I love you truly, truly, dear.
Ah! love, ’tis something to feel your kind hand,
Ah! yes, ’tis something by your side to stand,
Gone is the sorrow, Gone doubt and fear,
For you love me truly, truly, dear.

The Commitment Waltz
02:47
|
|||
Today to each other we promise to love,
to honor and cherish, before God above;
With guests as our witness, these vows that we take
will bind us together as this new life we make.
Pledging our vows, we two join as one.
From this day forward, it’s a new life begun;
I am committing to you all my heart
Now and forever, ’til death do us part.
If life is a song, let us sing the next verse,
For richer for poorer, and for better for worse,
In health or in sickness, we will stay side by side
As we travel together with the Lord as our guide.
Pledging our vows, we two join as one.
From this day forward, it’s a new life begun;
I am committing to you all my heart
Now and forever, ’til death do us part.
I am committing to you all my heart
Now and forever, ’til death do us part.

When Love Overtakes
04:02
|
|||
When love overtakes a man and a woman
There’s naught on earth can keep the two apart
A beacon of love shines brightly in both their hearts
A match made in heaven will last the whole life long
The man leaves his father and his mother
The woman also leaves her brother
They both shall cling to one another
As they unite, the two shall be as one
Today, tomorrow and forever
What God has joined, let no one sever
May love and honor, ceasing never
Reign in their hearts until their earthly days are done
When life gets painful and distressful
And nights are anything but restful
The Lord has promised you’d be blest full
Of His sustaining grace to see you through
The One who brought you both together
Will guide you through the stormy weather
You’ll bask in joy when times are better
To know that God’s amazing love still shines on you
When love overtakes a man and a woman
There’s naught on earth can keep the two apart
A beacon of love shines brightly in both their hearts
A match made in heaven will last
A match made in heaven will last
A match made in heaven will last the whole life long

Always
03:49
|
|||
Ev’rything went wrong,
And the whole day long
I’d feel so blue.
For the longest while
I’d forget to smile.
Then I met you.
Now that my blue days have passed,
Now that I’ve found you at last—
I’ll be loving you, always
with a love that’s true, always.
When the things you’ve planned
need a helping hand,
I will understand always,
Always.
Days may not be fair, always.
That’s when I’ll be there, always,
not for just an hour,
not for just a day,
not for just a year,
But always.
Dreams will all come true,
growing old with you,
and time will fly,
caring each day more
than the day before,
till spring rolls by.
Then when the springtime has gone,
then will my love linger on.
I’ll be loving you, always
with a love that’s true, always.
When the things you’ve planned
need a helping hand,
I will understand always,
Always.
Days may not be fair, always.
That’s when I’ll be there, always,
not for just an hour,
not for just a day,
not for just a year,
But always.

Husband and Wife
02:51
|
|||
You are now husband and wife
Today and the rest of your earthly life
Through gladness and calm
Through sorrow and strife
You are each other’s best friend
May your sweet love never end
Ten years and still going strong
Sometimes you’re right
Sometimes so very wrong
You may not agree
But you need harmony
Compromise will be your friend
On this you can surely depend
Twenty-five years
Courage and fears
You’ve been enriched by both vict’ries and tears
Memories made
Will never fade
Treasures to keep you both happy you stayed
Fifty years—so very long!
Romance and good humor have kept you strong
You’re still on the road
The end is not yet
as long as you never forget
that you are still husband and wife

Father's Prayer
03:50
|
|||
Twenty-some-odd years ago
we brought home a baby boy
Well, he was quite a character
but he brought us lots of joy
We were with him as he grew
and we gave him lots of love
And we taught him about Jesus
and His everlasting love
Oh, we thought he might become a doctor
or an artist, but oh no
He graduated high school
and off to college he did go
For he found a higher calling
in the ministry of the Lord
He’s preparing to do battle
with the Bible as his sword
He gains from life’s experiences
Not all of them are good
But from each one, he learns a lesson
As all God’s children should
Great relationships eluded him
’til a year ago last spring
He got together with a nice young lady
and at Christmas, he gave her a ring
CHORUS:
I pray for my daughter-in-law
and I pray for my son
I ask Thee, Lord, for blessings
on this life they’ve just begun
Please guide them with Thy Spirit
Hold them with Thy tender care
Dear Lord, this is my humble father’s prayer
Dear Lord, sometimes I worry
if the kids will be okay
I know they’re all grown up now
All I can do is pray
And I know I cannot be there
every time the road gets rough
But if there is a cross to bear
Thy grace will be enough
(Repeat CHORUS twice)
